Day 23 - The Great Cleanup
Having postponed the cleanup to today, it was all waiting for us this morning. I woke up very early and spent a couple of pleasant hours removing weeds in the garden (the weeds are growing just as vigorously as the garden plants.)
By 10am the rest of the crowd had emerged and been fed. I worked out by the van, unloading, spreading on the lawn to dry and sending much of the gear into Tresa and Jennifer in the kitchen. Extra food was put away and all of the camping equipment was washed and repacked.
Tresa then took all of the kids, all of the laundry, all of the blankets, all of the sleeping bags and the van to wash them. I went to the pool store to get parts for the clorinator. It had broken while we were gone and the pool is turning green (and was, for Tresa, a very high priority to get fixed.)
Statistics:
5662 miles traveled at an average of 14.695 miles per gallon. We consumed 385.291 gallons of gas at an average cost of $3.03 per gallon. (This put us well under budget for gas.)
We traveled in 2 countries and 16 states. We camped 10 nights, spent four nights with family and one night with friends, and spent 6 nights in hotels.
We saw two pagents and four plays. We floated on one river.
We attended three temples, performing 53 baptisms and 3 sealings.
One final post tomorrow.
