Day 10 - NYC Sunday

We woke up, had breakfast and headed out. We purchased subway tickets and found our way to church. We attended the Union Square First Ward on 15th street. It is a four story building with the chapel on the top floor, classrooms on floors 2 and 3, offices on the ground floor and a cultural hall in the basement. About half the congregation was visiting. We met another family that was visiting from Utah whose daughter had just returned from the Cebu mission and who had met Mom and Dad when they picked up their daughter. It can be a small world.

After church, we went back to the hotel to changed and eat lunch. Tresa was ready with sandwiches. We then headed south. Robert is the primary guide on the subways with Timothy and his map following right along. We arrived at the Twin Towers site and walked around it. It is still a major construction site. From there we walked to Battery Park and got our first real look at the harbor.

From there we headed to Times Square. We found a Chevy's for dinner and then wandered Times Square at dusk. It was really buzzing with people everywhere. We got a good taste of the busy lit up city. By this time we were done with it all for the day and headed for the hotel.

The kids played a card game with their cousins while I blogged and Tresa talked to her mother about our newest nephew (Jackson Allen Spaulding, congrats Kim and Richard!)
