Day 4 - Columbus Ohio

Today was a long drive. We went from Columbia Missouri to Columbus Ohio, traveling 563.4 miles in about 9 hours, losing an hour along the way. We got up at 7 and were away by 8:20, so we are learning how to get moving better. The Finger Lakes campsite was so nice that we were sad to leave. Our drive took us across the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers and we marveled at how big they are.

We arrived at our friends' house in Columbus in time to be treated to pizza and take a very nice walk in the nearby woods. There were many fireflys and soon our kids had brought several in the house! It will be just like camping in here tonight.

There is a boy named Allen in this house and Heather has taken to calling him "Little Allen" so that it is clear who we are talking about.

Gas prices continue to fall: we purchased gas in St. Louis for $2.759. Coupled with the van continuing to get about 15 mgp, it is good news.
