Day 3 - Finger Lakes

We got up a little later this morning, despite our intentions and still managed to get away by 9:30. We drove and drove across Kansas, stopping at a very nice rest stop for a taco salad lunch.

A freeway closure in Kansas City put us lost on the streets of KC for about 15 minutes but we, eventually, found our way to the Liberty Jail. We got a long-winded tour guide from Roosevelt UT who shared all maner of Church and US history from the area. We stayed about an hour and enjoyed our visit. We would have liked to have seen more in the area, but even Liberty Jail wasn't on our original visit list.

A couple of hours later we found our campsite in the Finger Lakes State Park. It is a very nice campground and campsite (with medicore bathrooms.) It was late when we got here but we are pretty fast and within 45 minutes we were eating hamburger helper, pudding and watermelon. The tent was also all ready, which was good, because by the time we had cleaned up it was dark.

The price of gas is falling as we travel east. We purchased gas at $2.95 today and saw $2.83. Today we traveled 521.4 miles.
