Near Disaster

Here it is, the day before we leave. I came home from work a little early to help with final preparations. In the mail was a letter from Utah's Fourth District Court summoning me for Jury Duty on July 3rd! Some amount of panic resulted. I called the court to learn what my options were and was greeted by a recording that told me that the case for which I had been summoned had been settled and I was off the hook for the moment. Whew!

I had just hung up the phone when my cell phone started ringing. It was the Washington, DC Temple calling: the group we were scheduled with for Saturday the 7th had canceled. There was another group coming at noon on that day, so we agreed to move from 9am to noon which will put us into NYC later than planned, but should be okay.

I think that I am done answering phones and opening letters for the day...

On the whole, preparations are going well. We think that we have everything ready. There is some final clothing to be put into bags (having done 4 loads of wash after the "final" load so far.) The food needs to be packed into coolers in the morning and I will pack the van in the morning as well. We need to leave at about 11am so as to pick up Alan at Goblin Valley at the right time.
